A Case Manager is being Added To Reach More Children In Nassau County
A Matching Fund Has Been Established to Seed This Expansion.
There are Four Keys to a safe and effective mentoring ministry.
- Recruiting
- Screening
- Training
- Supervision
These four steps of safe and effective ministry require well trained ministry staff.
If you know the ministry of Long Island Youth Mentoring, you know we have quality, long-term ministry staff. The average longevity of our current staff is 14 years. This is significant because effective ministry is all about long-term relationships. As we looked at the mission field of Long Island, we identified a need to add a caseworker who will focus on Nassau County. This person will need to live there, get to know both pastors and social service agency staff members. This new caseworker will also supervise mentors on the Nassau mission field.
This step will enable us to reach out to an additional 60 – 80 fatherless children a year. In order to take this exciting step, we need to raise the first year’s funds to cover expenses. This will afford us the time to raise support on a monthly basis going forward.
It is clear that this is God’s ministry and ministering to the fatherless is a heartfelt part of His agenda. Two families have put together a matching fund to help provide the seed money for this ministry expansion.
